Revisiting Skull-Woman

One of my interests in digital painting is finding easier (less time-consuming) ways of achieving the sort of effects you could manually. I can't say whether or not my attempts are generally successful but with this drawing, the idea was to try and emulate the kind of work Dave McKean did in the 90s (and I'm not making a claim to be anywhere near the same level he's at).

My comfort zone's usually in drawing decaying/deformed monster-related things so I ended up going back to Skull-Woman in my attempts to try something new on the technical side of things. I've got to say I'm relatively pleased with this one.
